'Hovering over Food'
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think this may be a "Female Black-chinned Hummingbird" [Archilochus alexandri]. See link at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-chinned_Hummingbird

I will continue to work on 'stopping' hummingbird's wings in mid-air as it did not happen on this day. 'Hummingbird No. 2' - 'Rufous Hummingbird' [Selasphorus rufus]
This little hummer was so quick that I could not get a good second shot off before it flew away. I just may have to 'station' myself next to these flowers and wait for a second appearance.
